On October 6, watch as young surfing enthusiasts conquer the barrel waves in the spirit of fun and friendly competition. The AHM Wave Warriors Junior Challenge is an exciting new Junior Surf Life Saving Event, inspired by Ironman Champion, Zane Holmes. The event is open to under 10's to under 17's competitors, and is now recognized as the best 2 day junior surf lifesaving event on the calendar.
The main event is held annually in North Wollongong, NSW with a new one day regional event to be held for the first time this year at Greenmount Beach on the Gold Coast, just a short drive from our Burleigh Heads Family Resorts.
Under the banner of AHM Wave Warriors, Ironman Champ Zane Holmes saw a need for less rigid carnivals where the competitors have more fun. The competition is about participation and fun – encouraging young athletes towards a healthy and active lifestyle.
Junior lifesavers (Nippers) come together from around Australia to push their own limits and beyond in exciting head to head competition. The underlying principle of the event is that all who attend are winners, but those who win are champions!
